Who should attend Eurosea? (Participants’ profile)
Members of national or regional teams that support Sea Scouting Representatives of National Scout Organizations (NSO)/Associations (NSA) and Member Organizations interested in introducing water activities, particularly members of national or regional programme teams or similar bodies Leaders & young adults who would organize international Sea Scout activities in the future Sea Scout and Guide leaders interested in international Sea Scouting Participants are expected to be able to communicate well in English and be capable of using electronic communication media (e.g., e-mail, Facebook).
What can you expect?
An active seminar, “hands-on” activities and various opportunities for exchanges, in both formal and informal settings International guests – professionals in safety regulations at sea and inland waters Clues and Tips on “How to?” do an international Sea Scout activity, possible partnerships Scouting activities, campfire, “sail the talk” and morning ceremonies etc. Time for informal idea sharing discussions and networking.

- Arrival: The event will start on Friday 9th of September at 3pm.
- Departure: The event will finish at noon on Monday the 12th of September

Number of participants
- The event is designed to involve up to 60 participants.
- Registration priority – please be aware that the goal is to have participants from multiple backgrounds.
Participation fee
The participation fee will be about € 350. The fee covers transportation, accommodation and meals from dinner on the 9th of September to breakfast on the 12th of September. It also covers all program materials and documentation. The participation fee does not include any insurance or personal expenses. If you need an invoice for your National Scout Association office. Please contact us on eurosea2022@sep.org.gr . Deadline for payment is 30th of June. As soon as you arrive, please be aware that you will have to purchase your ticket for the transportation that you will use to go to the hotel. Please give the tickets to the hosting committee and the money will be refunded to you .
Travel arrangements
Participants should make their own travel arrangements and obtain visas (if necessary). If you require an official invitation to obtain a visa, please clearly indicate this on your application form. Please be aware that Athens has an International Airport ( Eleftherios Venizelos) and the best choice is to book flight’s for that airport. Travel forms will be sent to participants closest to the event date . Participants arriving in Athens earlier than the 9th or leaving later than the 12th, who would like assistance in finding accommodations at their own expenses should email the host committee: eurosea2022@sep.org.gr
Please ensure that you have an insurance with your National Scout Organizations / Association (NSO/NSA) otherwise you need to arrange personal travel insurance for this trip. This Insurance should include the sailing activity. Be aware that insurance is compulsory for attending the sailing trip.
Call for workshops
We are collecting proposals for workshops and seminars for the Eurosea. If you already have an idea for a workshop or seminar, let us know! Our hope is that each country submits at least one proposal.
The topics for talks we are looking for, with some examples of past events are here:
- Unique path of sea scouting in my country – share a way in which sea scouting in your country is unique and how you could inspire others. Example: Polish presentation of the sea scouting tall ship Zawisza Czarny.
- Sea scouting best practices – what good things do you do in your organization that could be an inspiration to others? Example: practical lesson in lifesaving in calm water by Czech sea scouts.
- Sea scouting experience – inspire others with sea scouting program realized on site. Example: sea-scouting themed escape room from Dutch scouts!
- HowTos – tips and tricks to get stuff done. Example: How to organize international camps – where to get money, what to look out for.
Preparation
International evening participants should prepare a Sea Scouting game, which should last no more than 10 minutes Participants are asked to bring publishable photographs of Sea Scout activities, events, and training. Please obtain permission/copyright clearance before coming to the seminar since the photos may be used on the European Sea Scout webpage or Facebook
Additional information
The seminar is open to anyone connected with Scouting or Guiding that wish to attend and has the support of their Organization (NSO)/Association (NSA).
