7th FOS Seascouts Mercator – Opening of the Sailing Season

7th FOS Seascouts Mercator – Opening of the Sailing Season

Spring is in the air! And boy, that’s what makes A Sea Scout smile until their cheeks hurt, doesn’t it? It’s a time to celebrate. Winter is over, the weather is getting better, and… The boats can go out to sail again (and many other water activities of course)!

Sea Scout groups from FOS Open Scouting (Belgium) traditionally organize some kind of festivity or event to celebrate the re-opening of the Sailing Season. This is also the case in my local group: 7th FOS Sea Scouts Mercator, Waasland. Even though I’m not an active volunteer in that group anymore, I like to support the current team of leaders, seeing old friends and enjoying a delicious meal. Here’s a couple of pictures of what this year’s Opening of the Sailing Season looked like 😉

Do you have a similar event at your local group? What’s it all about? Feel free to share your pictures or video!
